糖心传媒 recognized 18 employees for instructing a combined total of 3,900 semester hours, or approximately 1,300 classes, in their careers at the College鈥檚 annual adjunct faculty recognition banquet on Wednesday, August 19.

William Loudermilk, Academic Senate Chair and Professor of English, served as the event鈥檚 Master of Ceremonies. Edison State President Dr. Chris Spradlin provided a welcome and presented the honorees with gifts.

鈥淚t鈥檚 a pleasure to honor our adjunct faculty,鈥 Spradlin said. 鈥淲e do this every year, and this is really a fun event to bring you in, to have this fellowship, this time to talk with you, and to recognize your accomplishments and your contributions to the College.鈥

He added, 鈥淚 want to say thank you so much. You are the ones who make the mission happen here at Edison State. We appreciate your expertise, your professionalism, and your dedication to students. As we honor the ones who have hit certain milestones in their teaching journey, it鈥檚 amazing to think about all the students who have been impacted by your contributions, leadership, and guidance over the years. That鈥檚 why we exist at Edison State鈥攖o help students realize their dreams of a better life.鈥

Loudermilk said, 鈥淭he strange thing about teaching is we don鈥檛 always see our influence when it happens. So colleagues, never, never, never underestimate your power to influence. We introduce students to ideas they may carry for the rest of their lives. We help them discover interests that can become their careers.鈥

Adjunct faculty hours accrue by the number of credit hours in each class taught, which is typically worth three credit hours.
